Microsoft's Lumia 635 4G Windows Phone available for just $79.99 off-contract

Last month, Microsoft announced its most affordable Windows Phone ever, the Nokia Lumia 530, which is now rolling out to various markets around the world. The 530 slots in the range below the Lumia 630, and its 4G twin, the Lumia 635 – but in the United States, the 635 is available at prices that are making the 530 look rather irrelevant.
The Lumia 635 went on sale for as little as $99.99 off-contract (depending on the carrier that you buy it from), but the device is now available for even less, thanks to a promotion at Frys.com.

Until September 4, Frys is selling the Lumia 635 for just $79.99, including free shipping, for the AT&T model (note that orders are limited to one per household). That’s a pretty impressive price for the device, which includes:
  • 4.5-inch FWVGA (854x480px) IPS LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
  • 512MB RAM
  • 8GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
  • 5MP rear camera with 720p video recording
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • 1830mAh battery
The absence of a front-facing camera, and lack of a flash for the rear camera, were among the things that we didn’t like – but its large display, decent battery life and smooth performance still made a good impression.
