Google Drive Is Much More Than Docs, Sheets And Slides

It doesn’t come as a surprise if Google comes out with something new, improvised, revised or revealed extra uses to their software or products. They always have a hidden secret to all their products, be it hardware or software. Well in line with this magnum is the Google Drive app for Androids which allows (primary uses of the software) storage, management and analysis of docs, sheets and slides.

This is a cloud storage service which means it can store huge amounts of data. Google Drive is used by over 190 million users in schools, offices and firms around the world. This is also encrypted which means it is highly safe thus meeting the security concerns that people have about hacking. Well apart from the usual uses of Google Drive, here is three different use of the drive that most of us don’t know compiled by Times of India.

An Alternative for YouTube: Unbelievably the same software that runs the Tech Giant’s Video Stream also runs in Google Drive that means it acts as YouTube as well.

So any videos uploaded to the Drive are made available for the user to stream from any browser that is compatible.

The other advantage the Drive has over YouTube is that though YouTube has an option to keep your videos private but on the Drive you can share and manage your videos complete private. This also helps stream and sync your videos on your mobile devices.

Manage your Receipts: If you are a busy person and you have a hard time organizing your paper or receipts, well the Drive is a lifesaver because it allows you to store scanned material. So if you are in a hurry and have too many things to do then just use your phone camera and scan the receipts keeping it in PDF format.

Thus, all your receipts are digitalized, making it easy to organize and arrange. This is a start to a paperless work flow.

Cloud Backup: This is what the Drive is good for as it automatically stores the data and files that are uploaded and synced without having to manually do it. This though has a subscription or cost fee of less than $10 for every Terabytes of Space used, but the price shouldn’t be a problem because of the amount of ease you get by not having to worry about the safety of the Data.

Once it is stored, you can access it from any device of your choice which means you have everything at your fingertips.
