A new version of the Google Play Store app has been released and it is available for download. The new Google Play Store 5.7.10 comes with many bug fixes that have been reported by users, to the developers. This new version of Google Play Store also comes with more Material Design, a fresh look of the “What’s new” feature, enterprise application support, wearable sensor/activity data and more.
It seems that the new Google Play Store 5.7.10 has more new Material Design elements compared to the version that got released especially for the Android Lollipop OS. Applications such as Gmail, Google+ and Google Play Newsstand are now updated with the new Material Design elements, which will surely please your eyes.
At the same time, the icon of the Google Play Store has been changed with a flatter look, in order to keep itself in line with the Material Design.
The “What’s New” section is now found on the top side of the application. You will spot it right away, as it’s visibly highlighted in green. It seems that the developers decided that they wanted to make it prominently visible in each application listing and have succeeded.
Also, the Widget suggestion icons for the HomeScreen have changed, keeping a flat, paper-like design.
Google Play Store 5.7.10: Availability
It seems that the Google Play Store 5.7.10 should be roll out to all users in a few days, but we’re not sure exactly when. However, in case you don’t want to wait and you prefer to manually install it, you can do that without any problems.
HINT: Keep in mind that Google Play Store 5.7.10 is not ready for Android M Developer Preview, so don’t try to install it on a device that runs on this BETA Android version.
To install Google Play Store 5.7.10 on your Android device, you will need to enable the Unknown Sources option that’s found on either Settings->Applications or Settings->Security (depending on the Android OS version that your device runs on). After that, download the Google Play Store 5.7.10 APK file from the internet and manually install it on your Android device.
