HP rolls out 'cheap' Android tablet

Hewlett Packard (HP) has reportedly unveiled a low-cost Android tablet.
The HP 8 has a 7.85-inch screen with a 1,024 x 768 resolution, quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, and a rather small 3,800mAh battery.
According to Tech Crunch, the company's lackluster HP Slate 7 was not efficient, but was cheap, which helped HP enter into the tablet game.
The HP 8 has been priced at $170, in competition with the original Amazon Kindle Fire and budget Samsung devices.

The report said that the new tablet is nothing exceptionally great at a throwaway price, but is a smart move by HP to test the waters while remaining active in the flourishing tablet market.
