Business Parcel & Express parcel COD in non-ePayment offices

At present COD facility for Business Parcel/Express parcel consignment is restricted to the offices which have ePayment facility including linked BOs.  As this restriction was adversely affecting the business and at the same time since there was  a number of  requests from  the  Circles as well as  customers  to  provide  booking facility  of COD articles to  those locations also  which do  not  have  e Payment facility at  present, competent authority  has ordered to allow booking of COD parcels to such  PIN Codes  also   with effect  from  1st August 2014.

Due to unavailability of ePayment facility in these Post Offices, it is not possible to remit the COD a mount through e Payment system.  Hence in order to remit COD amount, such Post Offices will provide information to their concerned Head Post Offices after delivery of the articles to facilitate booking service money orders till the time ePayment is made functional in these Post Offices.
In order to allow  booking of COD parcel s to  these Post  Offices and  remit a mount through service  money  order,  CEPT  will   make   necessary  software changes to  ensure smooth operations. Data of such PIN Codes has already been s hared with CEPT.

Data regarding unavailability of ePayment in Post Offices has been shared on the email IDs of concerned CPMG.  Circles have been instructed to install epayment in these offices under intimation CEPT Mysore.  In case any SO/EDSOs has been downgraded to BOs, concerned PIN code must be deactivated in the system.  Director General of Post directed that the work of installing ePayment as well as data cleaning in respect of SOs downgraded to BO must me taken on priority basis.

Manner  of   handling  of  COD  articles  received for   delivery  in   such  Post   Offices   and remittance of  payment will  be same as given  in  para  S(C)  of letter No. 10-32/2 013-BD & MD dated  03.03.2 014[Copy Enclosed).  Accordingly, all offices concerned are instructed to book COD Parcels and remit COD a mount for parcel s delivered through such Post Offices which do not have ePayment facility.
