How To Disable Keyboard Shortcut Windows + L In Windows 7

If your Windows session is protected with password you are probably familiar with keyboard shortcut Windows + L which will lock the session by returning you to home screen. In this article you will learn how to via a simple registry change disable this keyboard shortcut without any additional tools or hardcore hacks.
To get started follow below steps:
Step 1: Open the Start menu, type regedit and press Enter.
Step 2: In the Registry Editor, locate the following key using the left tree: HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System
Step 3: If the System key does not exist, create it by right clicking on Policies, then go New --> Key and assign any name you want.

Step 4: In the right part, create a new DWORD 32-bit by right clicking on empty space and then New --> DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Step 5: Assign following name DisableLockWorkstation.
Step 6: Double-click on it to assign a value in hexadecimal to 1. Press OK.
Step 7: The changes are immediate. To reactivate the shortcut, simply delete the key DisableLockWorkstation you just created.
Locking the session is no longer possible via the keyboard shortcut Windows + L.
