WhatsApp is used by over 800 million people and this is why the developers are continuously improving this great instant messaging application. They’ve added the Voice Calling feature a few months ago for the Android version of the application, and after that it was released for iOS and BlackBerry 10 as well. The Voice Calling feature finally arrived for the Windows Phone devices on the latest WhatsApp STABLE version that got released a few days ago.
The latest BETA version of WhatsApp for Android is 2.12.166 and it seems that there are no major changes to the application. It seems that the developers have fixed some bugs and errors that they’ve found on the previous versions such as sending racial emojis. The new WhatsApp 2.12.166 BETA APK file has also been decreased by 13KB from the previous beta version with over 350 modified files, 12 deleted files and 4 new files. Among the 12 deleted files, there are 3 types of icons relating to small buttons such as “anim_backup_dot_grey.png” and there is a new icon named “ill_restore_success_checkmark.png”.

WhatsApp 2.12.166 is currently in BETA, which means that the developers are working on it and it may contain errors and other bugs. However, in case you want to test it out, you can do that without any problems. Keep in mind that you will not find this version on the official Google Play Store and instead you will need to manually download it from the internet. So, open the browser on your Android smartphone and head to whatsapp.com/android. In there, you will need to tap on the “Download Now” button and the WhatsApp 2.12.166 APK file be downloaded to your device.
Before you start installing it, make sure that you uninstall the currently WhatsApp application and enable the Unknown Sources option (you can access Unknown Sources option by going to Settings->Security or Settings->Applications).
After that, use a file manager application to go to the location where you have the WhatsApp 2.12.166 APK and tap on it to start installing the latest WhatsApp BETA version for Android.
