So, along with cool and sleek designed phones, rough and highly durable phones that are water resistant come as a major player in smartphones’ market. Sony Xperia Z1: The model is one of the greatest warriors from the manufacturer sporting an impressive 20.7 MP rear camera with the facility to attach external lenses. Sony boasted about its IP58 certification that makes Xperia Z1 completely water resistant. The device can withstand being submerged into 5 feet of water. It is indeed an amazingly nice feature to have on a high-end smartphone. To make the Z1 water resistant, the manufacturer had to close most openings (except the headphone jack) with little rubber-coated flaps.
Driven by a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, Xperia Z1 is complemented with 2 GB RAM and 16GB of built-in memory expandable upto 64GB. The 5-inch TFT capacitive touch screen throws out images at 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The handset runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean and sports a front camera of 2 Mega Pixel. A 3000 mAh non-removable battery provides power supply good enough for 14 hours on 2G talktime.




Samsung’s Galaxy S5: The latest flagship Smartphone, from the South Korean electronics giant Samsung, Galaxy S5  is an improved version of its siblings, keeping a particular emphasis on refined user experience, enhanced build quality, dust and water resistance, updated camera and security measures like fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy S5 is certified by IP67 for being water proof and dust resistant. According to the IP67 certification, the phone can be submerged in up to a meter deep in water and for a maximum of 30 minutes. S5 have 4.5-inch 720p resolutions with an AMOLED display. The phone has a Quad core Snapdragon 400 processor, a 1.5 GB RAM, and an internal storage of 16 GB. Runs on Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 OS, the Galaxy S5 adds an 8MP primary and a 2MP secondary camera.

Galaxy S4 Active: A rugged version of Samsung's Flagship, Galaxy S4 Active is a water resistant smartphone powered by quad-core 1.9 GHz Krait 300 processor. It is supported by 2GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS. The phone boasts an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera with a unique feature of underwater camera mode. The waterproof feature comes standard for the S4 Active, which claims to allow up to 30 minutes of water time. This version is also dust resistant. It hosts a 16GB of built-in storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card.


Kyocera Torque:  Though a rugged device, the Kyocera Torque is a waterproof touch-screen phone that's equipped with 4G LTE, Smart Sonic audio technology, and excellent stereo.
Unlike other phones, it successfully combines full, military-spec toughness with Android touch-screen capabilities.
This rugged phone comes with a 4-inch WVGA IPS display and has an 800X480-pixels resolution. It is made out of Corning Gorilla Glass 2.0. The touch screen is bright and sensitive, with responsive  feedback going off at every tap. However, text and menu icons are sharp, and images appeared perfectly fine.

HTC Butterfly: The stylish 5-inch phone, HTC Butterfly packs with the latest technology, futuristic design and amazing features. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro quad-core processors along with 2 GB RAM and features an 8.0 megapixel camera at the rear and a 2.0 front camera for video chat. The Smartphone is priced at 42,090 on e-portals and along with being water resistant; the HTC Butterfly comes with sensors galore to enable users to experience a phone that is truly smart.
