Blackberry offers cash back of Rs.5000 to consumers in return for their older smartphones, on its Z30 Smartphone powered by the latest BB10 OS. The offer starts from June 20, which is valid for a limited period of 60 days and the handset would be available for Rs.29,990. The company’s rivals, Samsung and Apple have already offered similar discounts on their Galaxy and the iPhone models.
The Z30 was introduced in 2013, which came with an initial price tag of Rs.39,990. The handset featured a 5-inch super AMOLED touch screen display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. The phone runs on a dual core processor with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz and has 2GB of RAM. It has two cameras, an 8 mega pixel one on the rear with an LED flash and a 2MP shooter on the front. The phone has an internal storage memory of 16GB, which is expandable up to 32GB and has a 2880 mAh battery.
Apparently, this is the first time Blackberry has announced an exchange offer in India with its past records being price cuts on its handsets and the playbook tablet with recently the company slashing prices to 17,990 on its Z10 handset which had returned a great response to them.
"We have seen a phenomenal response to our initial promotional offer on BlackBerry Z10 and are confident that we will see similar take off on the upgrade offer on Z30," BlackBerry India director of Distribution Sameer Bhatia said.
“Z30 offers a combination of the latest technology and style quotient in one device at a fascinating price point and the offer will be valid across all the Blackberry retail stores,” Bhatia added.
