How to enable Guest Mode in Chrome for Windows

When you hand over your Windows computer to your friends and family, you activate the Guest Account so they don’t have access to all your files or Admin privileges to make big changes on your Windows PC. But what about your browser? Most of the time, your friends need your PC to access the internet. So why not enable the Guest Mode directly from the browser? Well, if you use Chrome on Windows (and only on Windows), you can.
Do note that, when you follow this guide, you activate some of the experimental features of Chrome browser and depending on your system, it might cause some problems – although in my testing, I did not run into any problems.

Enable Guest Mode in Chrome

1. Open a New Tab and Enter Chrome://flags into the Omni Search bar.
2. Find the option labelled Enable new profile management system by scrolling down the page or use Ctrl+F to enable the find tool and enter the search term.

3. Once you find it, Click on ‘Enable‘. Chrome will now prompt you to relaunch the browser.
Once you’ve relaunched Chrome, you will see a user icon on the top left corner of the browser. The same place you would see the Incognito icon when using Incognito mode.
When you click the user Icon, you will be presented with several option. From here you can manage multiple accounts, Add new users or “Browse as a guest”. This is the option we are looking for. Click on it and a new window will open up and now “You’re browsing as a Guest“!

By enabling this feature, not only do you get a Guest Mode, but you also get multiple user support. So if your family members all share one laptop, you can create different user account for them to access to. This way all of their content is saved in different profiles and you can avoid having to log in and out of your Google account so frequently.
To enable it, click the ‘Add Person’ option, run through the setup guide, and when you are done, a new user will show up right in the Users menu.
If you are a Firefox user, you can try this extension that provides similar results.
