How to insert a picture into a comment in Excel 2013

Suppose you receive an Excel document from a friend and would want to leave your feedback about the description. While adding a comment to a particular cell in the worksheet would suffice, posting a picture can be more insightful, especially, when you need to explain formulas or describe something meaningful. Instead of entering text description you can insert an image or picture into a comment in Excel 2013. The application offers this option.

Insert a picture into a comment in Excel

Right-click in a cell and select Insert Comment:

Enter the text you want to be displayed in the comment.
Right-click on the edge of the comment box to display the context menu and then select Format Comment:you need to place your cursor on the highlighted edge of an editable comment before right clicking to launch the context menu. If your cursor is on the text portion of the comment, the context menu will operate in a different manner.

Go to the Colors and Lines tab, expand the Color drop-down list and select Fill Effects.
Format comment
In the window that opens select the Picture tab and then click Select Picture.
Picture tab
Browse for the image file of your selection and then click on Ok.
Later, click on the comment box to display the re-sizing handles. From there you can adjust the size of the comment box. That’s it!
When an inserted picture is selected in the worksheet, Excel adds the Pictures Tools contextual tab to the Ribbon with its sole Format tab. The Format tab is divided into following 4 groups:
1. Adjust
2. Picture Styles
3. Arrange
4. Size.

Also, you can find a Reset option that allows to remove all formatting changes made and return the picture to the state it was in when you originally inserted it into the worksheet.
Trust this works for you.
