The Windows Insider Program, which was released together with Windows 10 Technical Preview, is already successful according to Microsoft's own stats, as more than 1 million people registered for an account when this program was released.
Microsoft now wants to give something back to the community of users who downloaded and installed Windows 10 Technical Preview, so the company is making available a brand new wallpaper pack with Windows Insider Program branding.
The three wallpapers, which are called “Come in we're open,” “Build & Create,” and “I Love PC” are available in the following sizes: 1280×1024 (Normal), 2560×1920 (Normal), 2560×1600 (Wide), 1920×1080 (HD), and 3840×2160 (4K).
Needless to say, they're all free and can be used by everyone with no limitation, but it's important to know that “redistribution, alteration, or commercial use, of the desktop images is prohibited,” as Microsoft mentioned in an announcement when it released the wallpapers.
Proud to be a Windows Insider
The Windows Insider Program was specifically released for Windows 10 Technical Preview and allows users to download and install the testing bits of the new operating system.
Microsoft says that this program gives users the opportunity to come closer to the company itself and work together on future products, which is a thing to really be proud about for those who submit feedback to the developing team and help improve the final operating system.
“We just wanted to do something special so that folks can advertise they are Windows Insiders on their Windows 10 desktop,” Microsoft's Brandon LeBlanc said when releasing the wallpapers.
New Windows 10 improvements in the pipeline
Windows 10 is one of the operating systems that will receive security updates next week as part of the Patch Tuesday rollout. However, no new feature improvements would come to users on Tuesday, but sources indicate that Microsoft is also readying a new testing build that includes several significant enhancements.
It appears that the company has completed development of more features for the notification center that debuted in build 9860, so the new version would add options to quickly interact with displayed notifications and applications. For example, it's rumored that users would be allowed to reply to Skype messages straight from the notification center, without the need for opening the app itself.
At the same time, the next Windows 10 build is also expected to come with improved window animations, again based on consumer feedback received after the release of Technical Preview build 9860.
