If you're having trouble reading the text on your laptop, you can increase the size of all of the fonts using the Windows 8 Display settings. This gives you the option to increase everything, including the size of icons and fonts, or you can increase only the size of the text. Either of these settings can be left on as your permanent display options. If you want to change the size back to normal later, just go back to the Display settings and reduce them
Instructions
- Place the cursor in the upper right corner of the desktop and drag it downward. Click "Search."
- Type "display" in the "Search" text field and then click "Display." Alternatively, instead of typing, you can click "Settings" and then select "Display."
- Click the "Medium - 125%" or, if you want it bigger, the "Larger - 150%" option to change the size of all fonts on the screen as well as icons, images and other items. If you want only the fonts to be larger, click the "Change Only the Text Size" option and then click the "Bold" check box. Click "Apply."
- Close all open applications and sign out of Windows. When you log back in, the size of all fonts on the screen are larger.
