7 Free Softwares Your Computer Must Have




Apart from installing the obvious software like Office, Firefox and VLC player, there are few more apps that are worth having on your system. These apps though not as popular as the previously mentioned, but are equally useful and important. What’s more, you these apps are absolutely free. Here is a list of 7 best software that you must have on your PC, as reported by Times Of India.


1. Dexpot



It is common to have a messy desktop, thanks to shortage of time to organize the same. However, with Dexpot one can have multiple desktops. Being virtual desktop software, Dexpot lets you have separate desktops for work and play. Each desktop can have different running apps, different icons and a suitable wallpaper to go with the theme. The best part is you can switch between the desktops with keyboard or mouse shortcuts. It is available for free if you are using it for privately.  



2. Rainmeter


If you are one of those who like to tinker your desktop but could not do enough with what Windows offers, Rainmeter opens a lot more doors for you. It modifies desktop in a way better than other available apps. The app replaces the desktop with a skin that is friendlier to add widgets and notes upon. You can modify the desktop appearance to a level never imagined with just Windows around. You can happily choose from thousands of skins available for free from the community.




3. KeePass



With loads of applications to work on and more than an email ID, we all have to remember a lot more passwords these days. KeePass can secure all your passwords via a single, master password. As it is stored in your desktop and hence there is nothing to worry about in terms of security. Once the password is locked, it is encrypted using secure algorithms. KeePass is trusted name world-wide and you can put a rest to all your worries about authorized access of data.


4. Recuva


Have you ever deleted a photo accidentally and wished it could be restored? Here is software that can do the same for you. Recuva, not only retrieves deleted data from your camera’s memory cards, but it also does the same from USB drives, the computer’s recycle bin or even an MP3 player. Although it may not recover 100 percent of the files all the time, it’s better than a total deletion.

7. Revo Uninstaller



Although you remove the program from your computer, there will still be some residual content left which can make your system run slower. This can be overcome with Revo Uninstaller. As soon as you install this software, it automatically tells you if there are any issues with the ‘leftovers’. It’s open source software and hence is free. However it is not fast and has best features available only in full version that is chargeable. It can delete most registry errors. The ease of use leaves a lot to be desired as we have to go through each individual program's built-in un-installation process in addition to using Revo Uninstaller.
