Facebook's Dialer App 'Hello': 5 Features To Know

With the onset of numerous mobile messaging apps, calls haven’t petered out. The world makes and receives billions of calls every day without much knowledge of the callers.

The Messenger team of Facebook has come up with an Android app dialer, ‘Hello,’ bringing a touch of modernization to phone calls. Facebook will, however, pose the centre of the communications.

The service accesses your contacts and compresses them into the dialer.

The dialer app allows making free calls on WiFi. In addition to this, the app has the following interesting key features.

1.The app accesses Facebook to find the caller information in case the number is not already saved on your device,

2.The app also provides with secure calling experience by preventing unnecessary calls from unknown callers,

3.Hello also holds an efficient search tab which supports contacting the local businesses and people with just a tap,

4.The app also helps reserving tables at the newest restaurants and get directions to the same,

5.You can respond to missed calls using the Messenger option.

After Google, Facebook is the second company to test the waters on dialer app. Google’s Hangouts app couldn’t make it big and has lesser than 500 downloads.

Facebook, on the other hand, is not planning to earn money out of the app. "Facebook is about making the world more open and connected," said Andrea Vaccari, a product manager at the company. "We think it's core to our mission."

Free download of the app is now offered on the Google Play Store.
