Configuring shared Windows folders for maximum network protection in Windows Vista


Configure the shared Windows folders for maximum network protection
1.Click the Start button, and then click Computer.
2.Right-click drive C, and click Share....
3.Click Advanced Sharing.
If the User Account Control window appears, click Continue.
4.In the Advanced Sharing window, examine to see if Share this folder option is checked.
To disable sharing uncheck it.
5.Click Apply.
If the warning dialog box appears, click Yes.
6.Click OK.
7.Double-click the Public folder.
8.See if it contains any shortcuts to files or folders.
If it does, and you do not want them shared, delete them.
