BO Interest Payment in DOP Finacle

When SB7 is received from BO for sanction of interest, PA at Account Office (SO/HO). First Invoke the menu HTDTRAN or HIOT to check the interest accrued for the said MIS account. Following procedure should be followed:-

• Menu Shortcut HIOT

• Enter the SOL ID
• Select the scheme type as OAP
• Enter the MIS Sundry account Number
• Enter the period wherein the MIS interest has accrued (Start date and end date)
• Enter the MISaccount number in the Ref No. field
• Click on Submit
• Accrued MIS interest is displayed.

WhatsApp Web is Coming to Windows 10 Edge Web Browser

Ever since WhatsApp Web was launched at the beginning of this year, this desktop client has only been able to support a limited number of web browsers.

When it first launched, only those using Google Chrome were able to use this app. However, things started changing after a while as more browsers were introduced to the platform.

At the moment, WhatsApp Web can only be used on Chrome, Firefox and Opera web browsers. Even though this is an amazing application for instant messaging, the fact that it is limited to a certain number of web browsers is quite disturbing. For one, Internet Explorer has never been on WhatsApp Web’s radar. Perhaps it could be because Microsoft had already made it public that it was going to drop this web browser when it launched the new Windows 10 – something that has already happened.

Clarification on enhancement of cash handling limit of SAS/MPKBY Agents as per SB order 08/2015 in DOP

• As per the SB order 08/2015 dated 10/07/2015 cash handling limit raised to 20000/- this is applicable to both SAS and MPKBY agents.
• It was clarified by the Postal Directorate regarding the enhancement of cash handling limit for authorized postal agents(SAS and MPKBY)
• Necessary modifications also done in the Finacle application and the agents can prepare the list upto Rs 20000/- in the portal now and the same can be posted in the Finacle application.

The trendiest messaging app, WhatsApp has unveiled its new update v2.12.250. After a serious of beta testing, the update is out and it is offering numerous features but the update is only for the Android users, as reported by the TOI.

With the latest update, users can mark their read messages as unread. But this option can be used to highlight the important message, since the sender is notified with blue ticks through which the sender can know if the message is read or not.

7th Pay commission is not going to recommend lowering the retirement age – Reports

7th pay commission will submit its report by the end of September

The Seventh Pay Commission, headed by justice A.K. Mathur, has sought a one-month extension from the finance ministry and is preparing to submit its report by the end of September. The commission is unlikely to recommend the lowering of the retirement age as rumoured earlier or push for lateral entry and performance-based pay.

The commission, set up once in every 10 years to review pay, allowances and other benefits for central government employees, was appointed by the previous government on 28 February 2014 and was asked to submit its report in 18 months, which falls on 31 August.

“There are some data points that are missing, which we hope to get by this month end. We are trying to submit the report by 20 September,” an official of the commission said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

India Post Got Banking License from RBI

Reliance Industries, Airtel, Vodafone and India Post are among the 11 applicants given approval to set up payments banks by the Reserve Bank of India.

Applicants granted in-principle approval to start a payments bank are --- Reliance Industries, Tech Mahindra, Aditya Birla Nuvo, Airtel M Commerce Services, Department of Posts, Fino PayTech, National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL), Vodafone m-pesa , Cholamandalam Distribution Services and among individuals are Sun Pharma chief Dilip Shanghvi and PayTm founder Vijay Shekha Sharma, the list on the RBI website said.

The Reserve Bank had received 41 applications for payments banks by end of deadline in February this year.

Yes, Finacle supports all modes of electronic transfer of funds like NEFT, ECS, and RTGS. Interbank and Intra-bank transfers are in scope of CBS project.

2. Certificates (NSC & KVP) being digitized as a part of CBS project? What type of schemes will be digitized?

All (schemes) types of accounts will be digitized as a part of CBS project; even discontinued schemes will be stored in the centralized server after digitization. So, digitized & manual certificates will definitely be migrated to the new Finacle software. The idea is to have all accounts in digitized form in the new software system.
